Spelling Bee

She is such a smart little rascal! The whole way we drove through Mississippi, we practiced spelling it....see, who needs a DVD player when you can spell state names for hours on end! ;)

Occasionally she adds in or leaves out a few "S's" but she is two years old, so who can blame her!

The fact that she can spell Mississippi, gives me HIGH hopes that she will be able to spell her name before she is 7 years old!

I mentioned in my post the other day, that we played games the whole way out and back. One thing that we do with Anne Margaret is make up silly songs or dances to go with things that we are trying to teach her. Here it was how to spell Mississippi and you will hear her little chant and see her clapping in the video below! If nothing else, it helps her remember and it makes learning fun!

By the way, did you know that I won the spelling bee when I was in elementary school?? Looks like the kiddo is taking after her Mommy!
