Pigtails and Pajamas

I don't know why I haven't yet thought to put AM's hair in pigtails!!

Actually, I do know why. She pulls every thing off of her head - bow, hat, rubber band, headband - my kid doesn't like them and refuses to leave them in. The only way we can get something to stay in her hair is if she is distracted when I put it in and if she is distracted when I let her go. Otherwise, the second she realizes something is in her hair, she reaches up with her sweet little fingers and says "air bow" as she yanks it out.

Little Miss Piggy is so cute though with them in, I think I will just keep trying. Look at all of that hair! I do love it - and regardless if sometimes it looks like a mullet or a helmet, I refuse to cut it. Not because I am scared or not because I am the sentimental mom who just cant take her kid for her first hair cut but I really just don't want to cut any hair that will not allow me to make the cutest durn pig tails you have ever seen.

In other random and deep Thursday thoughts, why are pigtails and other things so cute on little kids and so awkward on adults?

Like pretend this was me and my grown up slightly immature self. If I did a post all about me and my pigtails would you think it cute? Negative. You would instead be thinking Pippi Longstocking or something of the like.

Lets go a different route.

Footie pajamas. All kids in their footie pajamas are cute an snuggly.

What if I told you that I have a pair of footie pajamas? What if I told you that my footie pajamas are pink? Would you think "Aww! How cute!"

No way Jose! You would be thinking overgrown, wanna be child in a pink jumpsuit and slightly resembling the Energizer Bunny.

Lets take it one step further, shall we?

A kid in footie pajamas WITH pigtails! Talk about the ultimate cuteness!

...you already know where I am going with this.

Just close your eyes, take a deep breath and imagine a picture of me. Now imagine me in my Energizer Bunny suit with pigtails. Fabulously frightening and hysterical all at once.

P.S. I do have a pair of pink footie pajamas and they came from here. No lie. I only bust them out on special occasions {like Halloween}. I also now have the Pippi Longstocking song stuck in my head.

"Pippi Longstocking is coming into your world. The freckled faced redhead kid you ought to know..."
Pin It Now!
